“Lovely stay just a few things to note. Parking needs to be free/included, it’s £8 but a bit annoying for such an upmarket establishment to charge for it. Grounds are beautiful the building is stunning, staff helpful and friendly. It would be nice to have a little music around the communal areas plus we sat reading and at 9 o’clock sharp the candles were all snuffed out!! Breakfast was lovely .”

“Beautiful historical property in a fantastic setting - immaculate grounds surrounded by countryside. Right next to Beamish Museum -the best tourist attraction in the North East. We stayed in a Premier Room - well worth the extra expense ( just missing a mini fridge in the room). Already looking for a date to return. ”

“We stayed in one of the lodges, a short walk from the Castle building. Grounds are parkland style. Note that the the golf course that may be mentioned in other reviews is not there anymore. The castle itself is an interesting building, nicely furnished and restored. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were good quality and had good service. ”
