"Hands down the best hostel stay of my life. Carmo at the Reception desk was so lovely and welcoming and helpful. Her English is perfect as is her positive attitude. The room was top notch: featherbeds and the best shower: very hot water and it was strong enough to massage my Pilgrim (backpacking sore) shoulders. "Property is very beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast. Unfortunately the bed was severely sagging in the middle which made it very uncomfortable to sleep and the water in the shower was not hot. The very nicely designed property was not maintained as carefully as you might wish - stainless steel hinges and walls were just painted over."

"This is a really fun place to stay. We stayed there as we were walking on the Camino Way and it was in a perfect location. The staff was great. They did not have an open restaurant, although they had a small dining area with a limited menu and were very kind to make us salads and quiches. If our feet hadn’t hurt so bad, we could have walked to several restaurants in the area."

"Stayed initially for three night but enjoyed it so much we had two more nights there. The apartments are well appointed and quite private. The rooms were spacious and well fitted with a jacuzzi in the bedroom. Quiet in grounds of large house on outskirts of Vila de Punhe about 4miles from Viana do Castelo. Easy access to the town. The staff were very nice and the owner was very helpful. The views were lovely over the area and vineyards. Everything worked well and had no problems."

"It’s all about the location at the top of a mountain overlooking a jewel box of a church. This grand hotel was built in the early 1900’s. It has been renovated but is definitely an older property. Room was comfortable and the view was AMAZING. Breakfast was wonderful. "

"I stayed in this fabulous chocolate hotel in early October when I was walking on the Camino way. After a 10 mile day of walking, it was wonderful to get there and berated with a wine spritzer with chocolate shavings, delicious chocolate bar, and a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was included and was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend this place. "
