"We loved our stay at Te Vakaroa! We had an upstairs two bedroom villa with an awesome view across the lagoon to the ocean… walk out the front past the pool and your on the sand and swimming! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms upstairs, another toilet down stairs with a washer and dryer.. big lounge area and balcony.. right next door to the sailing club with cafe bar… a short walk to the pacific resort or nautilus where we went for food and cocktails… Awesome location and we are booking again for next...

"Kristina and her staff were great. Super friendly and helpful. The back villa came with amazing views with loungers and a table and chairs to enjoy the raised deck views. Bikes and kayaks were available for use and allowed us to see three turtles in the lagoon while paddling on three separate days. Loungers were also available for use on the beach. "I would stay here again! The location is great—there is a 24-hour supermarket right across from the villas, and a waterfall is within walking distance. If you don’t want to eat out, the villas provide all necessary cooking equipment, including salt and pepper. "We enjoyed our stay and found the property to be above our expections. Communication was good and we were met onsite by the Property Manager who was lovely. "We throughly enjoyed our stay at the sanctuary, a couple of small things i would change is the music! It is on loop 1 album the whole time and food was not consistent but mostly good. Also wifi needs to be inclusive in price even if it is a small amount. Overall was our favorite place to stay! "

"Paul & his team are amazing hosts. The Black Pearl is a lovely place to stay without the hustle and bustle of a big complex. Everything is available from a washing machine, BBQ & reef shoes. The beach is a 30 second walk accross the road and there is a restaurant and garage right next door for any snacks or drinks if needed. Paul can provide great recommendations for restaurants and car hire! Thank you so much for making our first trip to Raro truly on to remember!!"

"The ambience of the Edgewater was amazing. The Activity Hut was great!! The employees were very kind and helpful. The view of the ocean was Spectacular!!! My only concern wss for the amount of animals; chickens getting up on the tables and the amount of dogs. If someone is allergic to animals, it might be a problem. "

"Great place to stay if you prefer self contained room style accommodation. There are no dining facilities here but there are a few options nearby within walking distance including the food night markets right next door, a cafe for morning coffees across the road, the sailing club restaurant 30 meters down the beach (ate here a couple of times, it’s pretty good), a convenience store and takeaways also 20-30 meters away. Rooms were clean and had everything you need. Staff were very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Muri beach and lagoon is amazing. Golden sand and crystal clear water with lots of amazing sea life around if you like snorkeling. We saw and swam with turtles right out in front of the accomodation every day. Masks, snorkels, reef shoes, SUPs, kayaks, bikes are all provided free of charge for guests which we found to be awesome! Swam in the pool once, it was nice but the beach is really where it’s at. It’s a vibrant spot with lots of activity going on. There are lagoon tour operators either side of the Muri Beachcomber so you get to see and hear the shows they put on on the beach before they head off a couple of times a day. The drums and singing adds to the cultural feel and atmosphere of the area. Despite all the activity we didn’t feel like there was too much going on. We were still able to relax on the deck chairs, soak up the sun and picturesque views if that’s what we felt like doing. Found no faults during our stay, highly recommend it. "
