"We loved our stay at Te Vakaroa! We had an upstairs two bedroom villa with an awesome view across the lagoon to the ocean… walk out the front past the pool and your on the sand and swimming! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms upstairs, another toilet down stairs with a washer and dryer.. big lounge area and balcony.. right next door to the sailing club with cafe bar… a short walk to the pacific resort or nautilus where we went for food and cocktails… Awesome location and we are booking again for next...

Bikes and kayaks were available for use and allowed us to see three turtles in the lagoon while paddling on three separate days. Loungers were also available for use on the beach. "The beach was so beautiful, safe to swim, would have taken my own snorkel if I had know how great the area was. Our room was on the bottom floor, so we could go out our doors right out to the beach. The outdoor dining was just a few steps from our room. The food was great, so were the drinks. One drink in particular was great, called a Mud Lover. The staff was great, especially Ryan, very friendly and helpful. Marvin was also great. One thing I would recommend would be to rent a car at least...

"The Staff went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. Everyone of them. Things I didn’t care for was the rediculous prices for drinks, what Happy Hour? Wifi is also an unbelievable rip off. No beach to walk on and tough swimming. They have done a really good job fixing this place up and Adults only is a bonus."

"The Raratongan Resort was amazing! The snorkeling was some of the best anywhere-hundreds of fish (including so many nurseries with babies), lots of coral, many, many eels, and turtles; the beach was beautiful; the staff and activities were terrific; the room was wonderful; and the breakfast buffet was the best I've ever had anywhere! What a paradise!"

"Paul & his team are amazing hosts. The Black Pearl is a lovely place to stay without the hustle and bustle of a big complex. Everything is available from a washing machine, BBQ & reef shoes. The beach is a 30 second walk accross the road and there is a restaurant and garage right next door for any snacks or drinks if needed. Paul can provide great recommendations for restaurants and car hire! Thank you so much for making our first trip to Raro truly on to remember!!"

"If you’re just looking for a clean, decent, and convenient place to stay for 1-2 nights, I highly recommend this place. We landed around 11:30 pm, this hotel is very close to the airport (walkable). We stayed here at the front and back ends of our trip as we spent the majority of the trip in Aitutaki. We would stay here again. The restaurant had great food and drinks. "Great place to stay if you prefer self contained room style accommodation. There are no dining facilities here but there are a few options nearby within walking distance including the food night markets right next door, a cafe for morning coffees across the road, the sailing club restaurant 30 meters down the beach (ate here a couple of times, it’s pretty good), a convenience store and takeaways also 20-30 meters away. Rooms were clean and had everything you need. Staff were very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Muri beach and lagoon is amazing. Golden sand and crystal clear water with lots of amazing sea life around if you like snorkeling. We saw and swam with turtles right out in front of the accomodation every day. Masks, snorkels, reef shoes, SUPs, kayaks, bikes are all provided free of charge for guests which we found to be awesome! Swam in the pool once, it was nice but the beach is really where it’s at. It’s a vibrant spot with lots of activity going on. There are lagoon tour operators either side of the Muri Beachcomber so you get to see and hear the shows they put on on the beach before they head off a couple of times a day. The drums and singing adds to the cultural feel and atmosphere of the area. Despite all the activity we didn’t feel like there was too much going on. We were still able to relax on the deck chairs, soak up the sun and picturesque views if that’s what we felt like doing. Found no faults during our stay, highly recommend it. "
