"Great location in seaside Atami. Easy to get to train station and shopping as well as ferries and rope way. Dining was a great option in hotel as we traveled in from the USA and it solved that piece for us. Staff was friendly and rooms were well appointed and comfortable."

"Booked an oceanview room. Check in girl that served me was unfriendly but all the other staff were good. The view of the ocean was obscured by a tree and was on the first floor so very disappointed. I asked for a higher floor to get the view but same check in girl was unhelpful. Said nothing available without even looking at her computer. Maybe she doesn’t like Westerners. Otherwise it’s a nice place and the buffets were excellent."

"There's no private bathroom in the room. Most Japanese accommodations provide a yukata robe, especially for when accessing common bathroom facilities. This property had none to offer. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone who has physical limitations, such as difficulty walking as there is a very steep switchback to access this property. "This was our most interesting stay in Japan, so if you’re quirky, read on! Atami Kinjokan embodied everything we found fascinating about the town itself - it’s aged, grand and like walking through the hallways of a decadent yesteryear. The dinner served was lovely - and what a view from the banquet hall. Staff were friendly and helpful.
