“Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). The room was very clean and beautiful inside and the small window behind the bed overlooked the forest behind which was beautiful. Overall very quiet, the only bit of noise is people walking to and from their rooms as they are so close together but we was so tired we eventually...

“The hotel were very helpful when requesting a slightly earlier check in due to attending a family wedding and needing to get a 3 year old ready to be a flower girl before hand. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was very spacious and the large bath was amazing! Breakfast was very expensive, especially for pastry's, orange juice etc but hit the spot.”

“I wanted a low budget one night stay. Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. Kettle, microwave and fridge in room. Member of staff on arrival friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv to find any chanels, but not there long enough to enquire about it. Could do with a chair, but overall exactly what i wanted Thank you”

“I stayed 3 nights in this lovely public house (the Sun Inn, Acomb). It didn't have big town amenities, but it was fine for me as I wanted to visit and walk parts of Hadrians Wall. The couple running this enterprise had only taken it over about a month before I stayed, but I think they are doing it brilliantly. A nice atmosphere in the bar. Good choice of breakfast - which was delicious. A small menu for evening food - I tried one of the pasta dishes - again delicious. No car park, but...
