"Villas Cononda was such a beautiful place to stay! The eco friendly architecture was gorgeous and I loved watching the clouds and stars in the skylight while in bed. "We liked that it was right next to a market. Though busy during the day it was fairly quiet. Plus the market closes at 7pm, so it gets very quiet at a decent time. Staff was very friendly and gave great food recommendations. Our room was adorable and exactly what I'd hoped for when booking. P.S. tell Misha (the resident kitty) we say Hi."

"This is our third stay over about twenty years at Aura del Mar. This place is heaven. The staff is excellent; the grounds are stunning. If you love Mexican art/architecture/colors, this place is for you. The rooms all face the sea and the views are magical. The staff hooks you up with reservations at the good restaurants, and there’s a taxi stand at the bottom of the hill so taxies are there within 2-3 minutes, ready to whisk you around the bay. The beach is calm and the sand is lovely. We usually go to Sayulita, which we’ve loved for many years, but now stay away during Christmas and Spring break because it’s packed. Zihuatenejo beach is super uncrowded, even on Spring break week. Give this place a try—if you like old school Mexican charm, you won’t be disappointed. "
