Disliked: Staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Greenhost Boutique Hotel markets itself as an eco-friendly haven, and its lush design and greenery certainly create a serene atmosphere. However, my experience was deeply disappointing.
The staff’s demeanor felt forced, with smiles and greetings that came across as insincere, evoking an unsettling vibe reminiscent of the movie Smile. This undermined the warm and welcoming atmosphere I expected.
My room added to the disappointment. The air conditioning reset itself to 24°C every few hours, making it hard to sleep in the tropical heat. The bed was uncomfortably firm, comparable to the cardboard beds of the Olympic Village, and the lack of soundproofing made it impossible to ignore noise from neighboring rooms. To make matters worse, the mosque’s speakers nearby made restful sleep unattainable without earplugs, which the hotel failed to provide.
The amenities were equally lackluster. The spa shared space with the gym, creating an awkward environment for both. The pool, located by the breakfast area, lacked privacy and relaxation. Breakfast itself was appalling—a limited selection of reheated or recycled items, some still cold. One morning, I bit into a cake only to discover it was moldy and had a revolting taste.
While the hotel’s eco-friendly concept and aesthetic charm hold promise, the lack of comfort, poor soundproofing, subpar amenities, and unacceptable food quality make it impossible to recommend. This was one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever experienced.
