"What an amazing place. And the view from our hotel room was by far the best view to wake up to in the morning. Bed was a little small for 2 people but we managed. The Spa was amazing and refreshing after each day of exploring. What pure enjoyment and great experience we had. Several shops/eats close by. There is also a cool amusement park close by down the street oh and also a shopping mall. "

"Really nice place, big could fit 4/6 people easy. There was only two of us so we had lots of space. Location was decent. About 15/20min nice walk from mt fuji station. You get your own private indoor hot tube,you have to fill it yourselves,theres a hob fridge and microwave. Also really nice views of Mt fuji. We would stay here again "

"We had such an amazing stay at this hotel, our stay was only two nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. Not only was the hotel clean, quiet, and easy to get to, but the view from our room was beyond amazing. The ammenities were so lovely, with a quiet onsen spa with views of Fuji, and easy access to a hiking trail that leads to a beautiful viewpoint up on the hills. If youre looking for a luxury hotel with once in a lifetime views of mt Fuji, this is the place for you. "

First ryokan and it will not be last

"Our first ryokan experience and it was amazing. This place is a little remote and it was snowing and raining when we arrived so we decided to stay in and enjoy the relaxing 2 days here. The Japanese breakfast is awesome. If you want to try their dinner, make sure to email and order at least 2 days in advanced, it costs 8800 yen per person but it totally worth every penny. This is all private onsen meaning that you get the whole area for your group. Need to make reservations for onsen as well and we can have 2 onsen per day, each time lasts 50 minutes. The hot springs water is hot so we enjoy the outdoor onsen a lot more even it was snowing. Wish we live nearby so we can enjoy this more often. The staff are super nice and helpful."

A Breathtaking Stay at New Akao Hotel in Atami

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at the New Akao Hotel in Atami, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning ocean views and the hotel's incredible location perched along the coastline. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and designed to maximize the breathtaking scenery—waking up to the sound of the waves and the sunrise over the water was truly magical. The onsen (hot springs) was a highlight, offering a serene and rejuvenating soak while overlooking the endless sea. The hospitality was outstanding. The staff was attentive, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The dining experience was equally impressive, with fresh, beautifully prepared Japanese cuisine that showcased local flavors. Beyond the hotel, Atami itself is a charming getaway with beautiful gardens, relaxing beaches, and rich cultural sites. The hotel's proximity to these attractions makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. Overall, the New Akao Hotel delivers an exceptional blend of luxury, relaxation, and authentic Japanese hospitality. Haostay with a view

"Checkin was efficient & well explained. Provided with a code to access room. No key. Pleasantly surprised on entering the room with great view of Mt Fuji from the window. Room very comfortable with 2 beds, a separate sitting area Japanese style, kettle with amenities available from reception. Staff were very good & very attentive to requirements. Access to a rooftop area to admire Mt Fuji. We were lucky with clear days. Breakfast was included with my room - either Japanese cuisine , which was very tasty or international - egg & ham sandwich. Coffee, tea , juices are available. Ate at the restaurant which had a limited menu of 2 items. The ramen was very tasty. Hotel is approx half hour walk from kawaguchiko station. Also a short walk to the lake. Restaurants in the locality requiring a walk from the hotel. Bicycles are also available for hire to explore the area. I enjoyed my stay at Haostay & thank the staff for welcoming nature. Would recommend Haostay. "
