"Hotel was extremely homely and welcoming, just as the staff and owner were. We wanted to stay somewhere outside of town to get an experience closer to “locals”, and this hotel did not disappoint. Everything was clean, and I got a better night’s sleep here than our last stop in a big hotel. It’s so cosy, and the breakfast also deserves a mention; very healthy and tasty. "The staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly and courteous. It was very close to nearby tourist attractions. The hotel no longer has a restaurant/kitchen, Expedia needs to update this info on their website as the hotel no longer provides breakfast on the go. However there are plenty of restaurants and convenient stores close by. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable and shower facilities were satisfactory. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are in Hangzhou for a few days. "

"The property is immense and very beautiful, however it does seem that a bit more care could be given to some aspects of the property. The carpets in particular had a few stains & spills on them across the hallways & in the rooms. The staff are attentive and very helpful, the breakfast buffet was delicious with a wide range of options. The location is exquisite, right on the picturesque West Lake. "Lousy check in. Need to fight for a simple shower which I booked as special requests. Hotel looks nice for the lobby. Rooms are ok but older. Towels are fringed out. Everything is around 15 to 20 years old heavy used but well maintained. As money is the religion in China, is it same in this hotel. Hotel is prepaid and they want to have additional deposit of double hotel price. I really don't like this behaviour. Will not go again. There are better and nicer hotels in Hangzhou."

"It looks like the property is undergoing some renovations. Check-in was done by someone at the reception counter who cannot speak English. He came upto our room, but the key card was not working.
