Watch stunt shows, get on superhero rides, enter the Ice Age 4D Experience and take a splash in the Wild West at Australia’s theme park version of Hollywood.

Warner Bros. Movie World is a theme park full of thrilling rides, stunts and encounters with movie and comic-book stars. This fantasyland is next door to the Village Roadshow Studios and includes a super-sized water tank for film shoots. Kids will be thrilled to walk among the costumed superheroes and cartoon characters who roam the park and give performances throughout the day.

Movie World is updated regularly to keep up with new releases of Warner Brothers films. The old classics are also kept alive at the Looney Tunes-themed Fun Zone for kids. Enter the exhilarating world of Batman on the Arkham Asylum coaster ride and get flung high into the air on the Batwing Spaceshot. The Superman and Green Lantern roller coasters complete the group of superhero-themed thrill rides.

See how action-movie car chases are rehearsed at the daily Hollywood Stunt Driver shows. If you have the money, the VIP Pit Pass lets you sit on the front row, enjoy a lunch, and even ride shotgun with the drivers as they perform precision tricks. You’ll also get a photo and video to take home.

Young children can ride the Road Runner family-friendly roller coaster, complete with Acme dynamite, and get a photo with the Looney Tunes heroes. Fright Night at Halloween features horror films, scary mazes and shows for adults. In December, White Christmas is also more kid-friendly with ice-skating, 4-D movies and parades. The Chinese New Year in February is celebrated with a dragon parade and special program.

In the afternoon, don’t miss the daily All Stars Parade. You’ll see all the costumed characters come out to party through Movie World’s Main Street.

Movie World is located in Oxenford, along the Pacific Motorway. It is open daily except Christmas Day and April 25. During school holidays it gets very crowded. Consider buying a VIP Pass if you plan on visiting the three major parks: Movie World, Sea World and Wet'n'Wild.

Several of the top rides were not operating the day we went. I get that it's the slow season and rides need maintenance, but why charge full price when not everything is working? Besides that, park was nice and clean. There was just enough fun stuff to do for about half a day...
