Hotel interior was nice, the canal view from our room was STUNNING. We liked being able to walk to everything within 20 mins. We were only disappointed since we had 2 issues at this hotel but the hotel refused to compensate us for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Issue 1 was that the power went out 5 times during our stay. First time it was fixed after 15 mins, other 4 times it was fixed within 5 mins. It was apparently due to overuse of appliances by hotel guests which is not our fault and is an inconvenience since the power could go out again any time (e.g. while we’re in the shower). The other issue we had was a damaged bathroom door lock. The hotel said they can fix it the next morning but this didn’t work as we would need the bathroom to get ready in the morning and then would be going out and didn’t want staff in our room when we were out so we couldn’t get the door lock fixed. When we told the hotel that these are inconveniences we should be partially compensated for, they refused which was disappointing as the rest of the stay was great.
