"The hotel roomed seemed spacious and clean. The shower ran out of hot water first thing in the morning. I had to take a cold shower at 7 in the morning because the warm water just went away and I had the handle turned all the way to hot. Not a great experience. And my husband was charged $10 for a small bowl of cereal and a coffee which is steep. "

"On a hill with a great view. Accommodations were excellent. A bit difficult to find for someone not familiar with the area and non-numbered house addresses. Just ask for directions from one of the neighbors you’ll likely find walking their dog and you’ll be fine. "

"The place is right next to the water - unobstructed view. The 0.7 mile walk to center of Oban was nice in good weather but we got wet several time (expected this for October). Public transportation was hard to find so needed our car. Our room was a little small and cramped, but we could see other larger rooms. Check in and parking was a bit of a hassle. Great “Continental breakfast “ that included meats, cheeses, baked goods and more- well worth the modest cost "

"Had a lovely stay at Glengorn Guest House when visiting for the Royal Mòd. Check in was quick and easy, room was clean and tidy with an assortment of tea , coffee and some biscuits. I had opted for a room with shared bathroom which was spotless and close to the room. The accommodation is incredibly close to almost anything you could want and a short walk away from the train and bus stations. "

"dog friendly, staff a bit inexperienced as breakfast was not set up this may be due to time of year and not usual staff member as l was the only guest, room and facilities need a spruce up. "

From the moment I had contact with Sue (requesting another night stay) to dinner reservations and afternoon tea when we arrived, she was constantly engaged with us and making our stay at her beautiful Thistle House warm and welcoming. "We had a two night stay at 2 stones. Ben greeted us and was very welcoming, friendly & informative. We had a fabulous view looking out over loch Long. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. A decent sized bathroom although the shower was a little 'snug'. There was traffic noise from the road but it didn't affect our stay. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choices. We would definitely return."

"I had a 2 night business trip so cost was important. The cost was within my allocated budget. The room was well kitted out. Kettle, fridge, ironing facilities, coffee,tea, table to work at, comfortable bed and a tv. Even had a clock alarm at side of bed and a hairdryer. Towels aplenty and a wonderful high pressure shower. I am sure I have not included everything but would highly recomend this guest house to anyone in oban for a short stay."

"Fab location, really nice place. Would recommend. Maybe just check with the owner when the heating is due to come on. We didn't think to and it was cold. Other than that had a good stay. "

"A beautiful setting located right on Loch Linnhe/Loch Leven. We stayed for one night on a trip from Inverness to Glasgow. A perfect place to rest, relax and dine. Be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs to your room, no elevator available. The restaurant provided a great evening meal as well as a tasty breakfast buffet. Highly recommend this hotel!"

Practically Perfect 👌

"Excellent from start to end. Greeted warmly at check in and our dog Nova was also warmly welcomed. We were in room 1 and it is stunning. We loved the retro vibes and the sea view. My husband especially loved the working record player. Bathroom was beautiful and smelled divine thanks to the lovely toiletries. Love that they have used Scottish brands! Also had wee extras like a shaving kit and debtal kit. The power from the shower was fantastic. We had dinner here too and it was fab. The staff were super friendly and efficent. Food was lovely and well presented, I loved the plates. My salmon was slighly over done but it was still delicious and I beleive it was locally caught. Hubby said the steak pie was amazing, he also loved the mango and apple crumble. The bed, my goodness I wanted to take it home it was so comfortable! Breakfast is continental which I know isn't everyones cup of tea but was ideal for me. Bread, smoked cheese, tomatoes, fruit, yogurts, smoothies, pastries, juices, meat, soft cheese, cereals, tea and coffee. Ideal! All in all we had a lovely night and I'm only annoyed that I couldnt stay longer."
