"I love the fact that this property was walkable to many restaurants and shops. It was also close to the local free bus service that quickly took us to the main attractions in the area. We might have walked to some, but one of us was in a walking boot, so having the free bus service was a huge bonus. The property was older, but that's part of the charm going to a city like Charleston. The hotel restaurant, Swamp Fox, was fantastic and the staff at the hotel and restaurant were all super friendly. The only drawbacks were the very tiny elevator leading from the valet/drop off area to the lobby for check in and the odd bathroom setup. Since it's an older hotel, the bathrooms were off; there wasn't much counterspace, our friend's room had two odd-shaped bathrooms and the shower heads were very low, which was not fun for one of the guys in our group who is 6.4. At the end of the day, those are just minor items and would not deter me from staying there again. "

"Great hotel! Only thing to be aware of is the type of room you book. We made the mistake of booking a very tiny room which wasn’t ideal for a 4 night/5 day stay. Other than that, really great hotel, ambiance and staff! Will be back!"

"This property is excellent even in the off-season. Room and facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly. Only “shortcoming” is that there is not a complimentary breakfast but there are plenty of options nearby and within the hotel, at a cost. We will be returning to this location!"
