“Its a decent resort style hotel in the Oasis chain. Not particularly close to anything, but thats fine when all you want to do is relax by the pool. There is no beach - beach in Praia is blah, better to go to Sal or Boa Vista for quality beaches. Room was correct, nice balcony overlooking the water and view on Fogo volcano, which was neat! AC worked well, wifi was sometimes spotty but ok in general. Good towels. Front desk staff were helpful and responded to a request to fix the sink to drain...

“This was my first visit to Cape Verde and I will definitely stay here again on any future visits. The entire property was very neat and clean and reasonably priced. Loved the unique decor. From the front desk to the bartender…Every single member of the staff was super friendly and helpful, even with problems I had trying to move around the country away from the hotel. They definitely went above and beyond. I absolutely recommend!”

“Perfekte Lage, direkt am Strand. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Gelände wird 24/7 von der Security überwacht, damit nur Gäste und Hotelangestellte das Gelände betreten können. In der Nacht hört man die Wellen, da es keine geschlossenen Fenster gibt (Fliegengitter und Vorhang - that's it), ebenso hört man die Musik von der Strandbar, aber gegen 22Uhr ist Ruhe. Die Betten sind etwas hart, aber trotzdem hatte ich sehr entspannte Tage dort.”

“Excellently positioned on Praia Plateau, which is full of history and culture. The Santa Maria has friendly, cheerful, Caboverdean staff and is comfortable, clean and caring. Buffet breakfast is delicious and it has a lift. The only minor problem is it’s sometimes hard to get on the WiFi.”

“It was amazing, my room was pretty big, shared bath room, but it was very clean. Great location, close to the beach. For the plateau you have to walk around 20 - 30mins. The street is very loud, but during the night there's not a lot of traffic. It was a very pleasant stay.”
