Normandy Shores, Miami hotel rooms at the Independent

"The 200 level rooms were great -- previously, the rooms which are directly above the beach were not as clean or pleasant and were very dated compared to the rooms which were across the SkyWalk (main lobby -> elevators -> floor 3 -> skywalk puts you at floor 4 of new building). The rooms across the SkyWalk were perfect and modern."

"We stayed in the Lester Collins suite with stairs to an upper floor bedroom and a balcony off the main room which was very nice. We had extra beds in the main room as travelling as a family of 4, with two teenagers. The pool is standard with a concrete area and not heated so a bit cold in February. We also used the gym in the hotel complex, which was large with plenty of equipment. Miami Lakes immediate area was really nice; a family area which is very quiet. Overall we enjoyed our time here...
