"Basic ryokan situated in the heart of Kyoto, perfect location with lots around. However, the room was not the cleanest. We found a messy, unfolded duvet thrown in the closet and a few strands of hair in the bedding. Assuming the duvet was used by the previous guest and not folded by housekeeping after guests checked out."

"We had a great time at the screen in Kyoto. The staff was very friendly and our check-in/check-out was seemless. They even packed us a to-go box on our final day when we had to leave early morning. Tip: all their suites have different designs. The staff was accomodating for us to try another suite, so we got to experience different designs. Much appreciated!"

"Room was well presented, clean and big enough for a few nights. Staff were friendly and kindly spoke English to us. Lots of disposable amenities available in the lobby. Near to transport options and close to the centre of town. Rooms cleaned every few nights with the aim of being eco friendly and was fine with us. Negative: Like all Japanese hotels we’ve stayed in there is no closet or places to put clothes."
