"Of all the places we stayed in Florida, Authors Guesthouse was the best. We were in the Harry Truman room, which has a very warm, cozy decor and a great balcony. It's located in a quiet, authentic, historic residential neighborhood, which is kind of far to walk from the local sites like the Hemingway House, but doable for those in reasonably good health. "This property is truly amazing but what adds the extra star are the staff, Shawn made our holiday, could not do enough for us. The house is just beautiful and so much history and extremely central. Just a few things that would advise but doesn’t effect the overall place, 1) the room we were in was opposite checkin so can be a bit noisy at times 2) the light from the outside garden pool area is on all night and keeps the room very light at night. These didn’t bother us but may affect others "

"The Conch House is AMAZING!! Beautiful room with outside porch. Food and service were excellent and the location is right in the heart of the action. The only downside is the street below is very noisy, especially in the evening into late night. "

"We loved everything and will absolutely be returning! The one we were in was a cute 1 bedroom with french doors and a nice size bathroom. Decor was perfect. The pool is small but its perfect for the cottages. Entry to the property and room were by electronic code, the front porch was comfortable with the perfect amount of seating and tables. It looks like a little private community. Just loved the stay! The staff were so nice as well. This property is right off of Duval."
