Laurier Québec is one of Québec’s most popular attractions. With around 350 stores on three levels, it’s also one of the largest shopping malls in Canada. The retail center houses major international brands as well as small independent stores selling clothing, jewelry, books and electronics. Laurier Québec claims to have the greatest concentration of retailers in Eastern Canada.
Originally known as the Place Laurier, this bustling mall has been a major presence in Québec since 1961. It was the city’s first indoor shopping center and has grown out to receive close to 12 million visitors annually.
Set aside at least half a day to walk around the stores and boutiques and to enjoy the amenities. There are nine information terminals throughout the building to help you locate specific stores. Brands range from hip and fashionable to practical, timeless and chic. If you are unsure which color and style of clothes suit you, hire one of the mall’s qualified stylists for personalized advice on fashion choices.
Break up your shopping with a meal or drink in one of the cafés, food courts and restaurants. Let the children run free for a while in the children’s play area inside the mall. You can also take children from 2-8 years old to the daycare center on the third floor, to turn all your attention to shopping while they have fun with other kids.
Laurier Québec is on the main road that leads into Old Québec and is close to the entrance to the city. The mall is open daily and there are longer opening hours on selected days. There’s free indoor and outdoor parking on site with more than 5,000 spaces. During the high season you can also reserve a seat on the Laurier shuttle bus that services three Québec City locations and the mall. For shuttle ticket prices, childcare fees and opening schedules, visit the shopping center’s website.
