I have been in dumps, but this one takes the cake. Checking in was impossible without eyes watering. That much smoke is in the air. Receptionist barely spoke English but did manage to tell me the non smoking 2 queen room I booked was not available so I needed to take a very very very small dirty queen. Since I prepaid, I was stuck. The room had hair in the bathroom and stains on the bed. The room looked like something booked by the hour. Real dump. I would never recommend the place to anyone.

Too noisy. Noise is not from Fremont street but another nightclub that is close by. 3am and music still going strong. Will never stay there again only because of the noise. If you don’t mind loud music, then I do recommend this hotel.

I love how it’s close to freemont and downtown. Altho, the staff who took us to the airport via shuttle was rude. Overall, it was good experience with El Cortez!

I enjoyed the El Cortez cabanas . It’s separated from the casino area and much quieter which I loved. I do wish that they had a microwave in the room but that’s no biggie. Please note if you’re looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle DO NOT choose El Cortez . They only have.a shuttle to take you to the airport but not one that picks you up FROM the airport which I did not know before hand . Other than that inconvenience it’s a decent stay for the price.

There were three couples on our trip in 3 different rooms and all of them had maintenance issues. The hotel employees were responsive and tried to gix everything but some things, like drainage, and water pressure were likely just due to the age of the buildings

Might all well be staying at a motel. All rooms are facing an outside walkway. The noise from Freemont Street is terrible. The room was basically a "no tell motel". My room smelled like weed for two days and I slept in my clothes afraid to even touch the covers.
