This stay was an incredible experience. From the moment you check-in, the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay exceed all expectations. Little touches like late night in-room snacks, private breakfasts, and very thoughtful going away gifts made this stay very memorable. It’s such a unique experience. We stayed in the Kashiwa Mochi room with open air bath, and it was the perfect blend of traditional ryokan with luxury touches. Felt like our own private home. I would highly recommend this property, well worth the cost

We really enjoyed our stay at Nazuna Kyoto Gosho. The place is in a nice and quite neighborhood and has a very traditional Japanese feel to it. You're welcomed with a nice welcome drink with a very cute candy. They also provide a lot of gifts for you to take making it feel very welcoming. It was a nice stay overall.

We were lucky enough to spend a few days of our honeymoon at Nazuna Kyoto Gosho. This Ryokan is incredible, the staff is most welcoming and attentive to every request. Moreover the breakfast is delicious and a truly unique experience. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Kyoto.

We stayed for 1 night in April 2023 and we loved the experience at Nazuna Gosho. All staff members were super friendly and kind and were able to accommodate all of our requests during the stay. This place is beautiful and the staff is just as great. Such great attention to detail, the rooms are very clean and very tastefully done. The staff is super attentive and helpful. Traditional feel with all the creature comforts you could want. Attentive staff. We had the dinner option one night and it was well worth it. Delicious! Also they have an option to have someone come dress you in kimono at your room. I recommend this over any rental experience.

This place is incredibly beautiful, and every person there is so nice and helpful. Make sure you're hungry for the breakfast, which is both huge and incredibly delicious. Free beer, soda, water, snacks and ice cream. The bath is incredible (especially coming from a person who hates baths; seriously, try the bath).

This place is amazing! We booked a suite with a private semi- open air bath, which was so beautiful and looked out onto the garden. The whole place was so clean and smelt like teakwood. We booked with breakfast included, it was in traditional Japanese style and it was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and welcomed with a tour and tea ceremony. All of the staff here are incredibly welcoming and were extremely helpful when my husband and I asked for dinner recommendations and things to do in the area. Overall this place is definitely worth every penny!

This was the best hotel my fiance and I have ever stayed. We loved the private bath experience as well as the beautiful traditional Japanese rooms. Not too traditional as we had a nice big western style bed to sleep in. Our accommodations had a few different rooms. Kind of like our own private apartment. Our favorite was the tatami room where my fiance spent our time relaxing and watching shows after a long day of exploring Kyoto. Also, the staff is excellent. They made the stay very special especially for my fiance. They found out it was her birthday and presented a small birthday cake to her. We will definitely be staying at here again.

This hotel is a conversion from small business to a traditional style ryokan. It’s a narrow lot but with so much to offer. We stayed in the room with outdoor bath which is beyond awesome. Private zen garden with Private tub, nothing more to ask for. Nicely renovated with comfortable bed with view of the tub. The only thing to note is staying in this type of room in late fall or winter may be too cold consider we needed to go outdoors to get to the washroom. Having said that, I enjoyed every moment of my stay, didn’t mind the cold as much as my partner but think people should be aware. PS. Breakfast is excellent, best breakfast ever! Must try!And great service from every staff member! Thank you so much for a delightful stay!

My wife and I stayed three nights at Nazuna Kyoto Gosho for our last stop in Japan. The overall experience was wonderful and the staff could not have been more polite and helpful with our every need. Room-well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. Great spa like bathroom, nice bed and a sitting area. While it felt traditionally Japanese, it had all the modern conveniences we were used to. Food-the food was wonderful and cooked sukiyaki style in front of you for every meal. We only had dinner there one night which was a great experience but glad we had a chance to explore other restaurants We did eat breakfast there every morning and while it is not a traditional western style breakfast it was fun to try something a little different—-grilled steak or fish, grilled vegetables, rice and miso. Our only complaint with the stay would be the in room massages. After days of walking around Tokyo, Mt Fuji and Kyoto we wanted a little relaxation and decided to book an in room massage. They were not massages at all but lighting pressing on your back covered in a blanket and towels for 1 hours. My wife and I were both a little irritated as it felt like a waisted hour when time is precious. I would recommend finding a massage studio outside of the hotel to anyone who really wants this service. Side note….we did stumble upon a little restaurant/wine bar called Chrome a block away. If you get a chance, go!!! Amazing food and wine!!

Fantastic service!
We were lucky to get the first room beside hotel entrance. This is a modern ryokan that comes with breakfast. Hotel opened only 3 years ago and has only 7 rooms. There was ample space for us to open our 20" luggage. Bathroom provides full amenities including Pola toiletries and comes with a standing shower and a private onsen. A travel adapter was provided although both sides of the headboard already has USB sockets. There's a dining room which provides unlimited Japanese snacks, ice cream, tea, coffee and beer (Premium Suntory Malt)!! Breakfast is served at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 daily with a choice of fish or Wagyu beef pre-ordered the day before. It's the full traditional Japanese breakfast with rice and soup. The beef is grilled on the spot according to your preferred doneness. Service was detailed as the waitress took the trouble to remember our individual preferences from the day before. Every staff speaks some English which is rare for a ryokan. They were friendly, responsive and very helpful. One of them gave us suggestions on what we could do and offered to make reservations for us. Hotel is just 5 min walk from Marutamachi Station exit 5. Just cross at the pedestrian crossing when you reach ground level and walk into the lane between the buildings. Turn left at the 3rd junction. After 50m, Hotel is on your right. This place is near Nishiki Market. Stay was really enjoyable and will definitely be back.
