"The location of the Riad is perfect. Only a few meters from.the main square so walking distance to all you want to see and do. Despite its central location, it is quiet. The Riad has been restored with amazing attention to detail of Moroccan craftsmanship. The Riad is clean. As it is a Riad, space restrictions apply with steep stair cases erc. For a 5 star hotel it has weird rules, can’t bring outside food and wine into the hotel, you cannot sign for any of the stuff you use during your stay and have to pay off right away, once checked out they give you a special pass to get your luggage. Not bad, but not a 5 star feel. "

"The hotel is 3 or 4 houses/Riads joined together creating a meandering and sometimes confusing maze of rooms and corridors, but equally leaving secluded areas to discover and then sit and relax in. There is not that much accessible roof space unless you are lucky enough to have a private roof deck as part of your room"

"We had a wonderful 4-night stay at The Ksar Anika. Communication in advance with a late arrival was great. The Riad is beautiful with every detail considered. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly, attending to every need. The breakfast is unreal! We also appreciate the kindness and hospitality to our 11-yr old son. The location is excellent and most importantly safety is clearly highly important to the staff. Big thanks to all the dining room service team, the night watchman who helped with arrival and departure at off hours, and reception for support booking a day excursion to the Atlas Mountains. If you can book a day with Hassan in the mountains, we recommend it as a wonderful way to experience the mountains, topped with a lovely home cooked meal."

"Amour d’Auberge is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the area. The location is truly excellent—convenient and central, making it easy to explore everything nearby. The staff work incredibly hard and are very accommodating, ensuring a smooth and pleasant stay. The property itself is clean and well-maintained, including the bathrooms, which are spotless. The showers have warm water, though the automatic light turning off mid-shower can be a little frustrating. The beds are comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hostel feels very good and welcoming. Breakfast, while simple, is decent. However, it’s not always served on time, which can be a slight inconvenience if you’re on a tight schedule. That said, the terrace and seating areas are a highlight—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. Overall, Amour d’Auberge offers a great experience with just a few minor quirks. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-located place to stay!"

Best staff

"I have never seen such an amazing staff (and I have stayed in over 1000 nights in all types of hotels including 5 stars in over 20 countries). So helpful, caring and friendly. They'd always go above and beyond. From staff at night to day, everyone was always smiling and finding solutions to any problems that guests may come up with. They'd literally get 100 out to 10 from me if that was possible. I was having problem with our room and asked for a new room and they upgraded without any charge to ensure my comfort. I am a vegan, whilst they didnt have many options in their standard breakfast, they tried to bring in items which they could. Secondly, the location is amazing, just 5 minutes away from main Jama El Fina. The value for money is unparalleled. Such a inexpensive hotel/riad with such amazing services. One thing for improvement would be to renovate riad a little. I understand it is old and represents culture etc of old Morocco but still some furniture upgrade including doors, lighting curtains would help. But even then, if I were ever to come back to Marrakech, I'd stay with them honestly."

"What an Amazing Riad with Amazing Staff. We stayed here for 7 nights and all the staff were very friendly, genuine and helpful. Airport transfers were arranged through Riad Karmela and we could not believe the effort of both of our drivers...on arrival he had waited over 2 hours for us! The second driver to the airport manouvered through almost impossible alleyways for us. Thank You to you both. The rooms were so spacious and clean. Breakfast was a delight each day and the staff were always attentive. The relaxation areas including the terrace were decorated to traditional standards, with beautiful furniture, paintings, photographs and Moroccan artefacts. The restaurant was almost full each night we stayed and highly recommended. The guitarist was also a pleasure to listen to on evenings. Thank You to all at Riad Karmela!"
