"The hotel is dated as are the facilities. We made the mistake of selecting a smoking room, so our room smelled like an ashtray. It was difficult to determine cleanliness, because the furniture was old and the carpets were also old and stained. Transportation is extremely limited unless you want to ride a bike or walk. "Great stay, mini sauna with exterior bath is fantastic. Interior doors etc are mostly sliding so don't expect privacy. Front door lock is very "sticky". The house is a bit up a hill, but you get a very nice view for the effort, great stay."

"This property is right by a large shopping area filled with dining areas and shops making it a good location for visitors. We booked a smoking room by accident so the room did smell like smoke but that was on us. Staff was very helpful and accommodating for foreigners and they also offer free breakfast from 6-9am. "

"The amenities and front desk service make this hotel. The public bath, sauna, free snacks, coffee/tea etc. The front desk helped (often in English) with taxis, directions, recommendations and luggage forwarding to another hotel. The room was very small, but manageable."

"Very cute rooms, the beds were private and spacious, bedding was very warm and comfortable (slept amazingly). I didn't get back in time for dinner but the udon for breakfast on the first morning was fantastic and I was serenaded by a lovely man playing Ghibli music and the beatles on a ukulele as I ate my cheesy bread on the second morning. Also, the free iced green tea was delicious. There were lots of helpful pamphlets in many languages about what to do and where to go, and the staff were helpful with recommendations and very kind and efficient in general. Lovely feel to the place and recommend!"

"We had an excellent 2 nights stay at Alphabed Inn Takamatsu. The whole place is very clean and the room is spacious and very comfortable. The surroundings is very near to train station and supermarket. The common area however is very cold so the tempreature can be adjusted slightly higher. "
