Greater South Lyon, Lyon hotel rooms at the Independent

"The front desk is not 24/7. We arrived at 7pm and we have had to self check-in through a machine. The description of hotel mention it has a SPA as our benefit, but we did not find that and had no one to ask for. Note: they charge addition fee for after hour call."

The hotel is basic and lacking in the usual items found in virtually all North American properties, i.e. - no microwave, fridge, coffee maker or ice. This, however, appears to be the norm in Europe unless one stays in an "Apart- hotel". Otherwise, very satisfactory. "

"Room were attend & clean very nice. Front desk Jamila and colleagues very nice to me. Restaurant breakfast buffet was excellent and sure lunch and dinner just the same, staff very friendly. Must stay again next time, it’s almost very close 30mins walk to most tours. Keep up the excellent job. Rogelio"

"I stayed 2 nights on business. All the staff were super helpful, very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable but could perhaps do with some upgrading. It would have been good if the hotel sold cold drinks as I had to go out after finishing work at c 21:00 and Villeurbanne did not feel terribly safe."
