The restaurant downstairs had excellent food and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Furra if you're visiting Gjirokaster! The street can get loud at night but if you're there to vacation and enjoy festivities, you'll be in the crowd anyway. "

"We loved it so much we decided to stay a second night. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Great hospitality and it is a family owned and run guesthouse. The grandmothers made an amazing breakfast that consists of tea, coffee, fried eggs, delicious bread, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, cheese, butter, and fig jam. Location was good, a lovely walk to the castle. I could see myself spending a week here. "

The Ali Pasha Bridge is located near the beautiful town of Gjirokastra in Albania. You can easily hike there within 30 minutes and you can be pretty sure not to meet any other tourists. The bridge was part of a larger aqueduct complex commissiones in the early 19th century by Ali Pasha of Tepelenë. Tje aqueducts fed the castle's cisterns with water from the Mount Sopot. Gjirokastra didn't have water at this time and Alia Pasha discerned the need of this structure.
