"This is a unique place to stay in Edinburgh, it is a boat once owned by a member of the Guinness family, now refurbished with a huge amount of love and pride and run as a hotel. Our flight was delayed so it was almost 10 pm when we arrived, but Alfonso, who greeted us, very kindly phoned the pub opposite, the Ship on the Shore, and persuaded them to feed us, even though the kitchen was about to close. The food there was delicious. Breakfast at Ocean Mist was very nice, with a lovely view from the dining area, it was also a great place to have a drink before retiring for the night. It is easy to get to the centre of Edinburgh and to the airport by tram from this hotel. My husband had had quite serious surgery a month or so before this trip, and this caused some issues that were potentially upsetting for us, but the staff at Ocean Mist were kindness itself, I can't praise them enough. We were so grateful for their help and would definitely stay here again when visiting Edinburgh."

"Our group stayed at the property June 6-8, 2024. We were there, like many, for the Taylor Swift concert! The hotel was in the spirit of Swiftmania, providing a cute Photo Booth with a cutout and props, a special drink menu, and the employees added pieces of flair to their uniforms if they so desired. A special taxi service was provided for those who did not already have transportation arrangements. The effort was appreciated and encouraged me to want to stay there again, *when* I visit Edinburgh in the future! The breakfast buffet was well-stocked, freshly made, and clean. The reservation system was a great way to keep the guests staggered and the dining room occupied but not overwhelmed. The staff in the dining room were friendly, professional, and in the spirit of the moment. I appreciate the participation in the theme of the concert, instead of the eye-rolling that it could have been! It did look as though many employees had a good time dressing up though, so maybe some theme weekends are in your future! We could tell that renovations were in progress, as one of our party’s rooms was remodeled and one wasn’t, so it will be fun to see the difference in the future. Thanks again for being good hosts! "

"The staff were super helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Showegel, shampoo well everything you get free in most hotels was available with no charge. I was surprised that well equipped kitchens serviced the rooms. "
