"We never stayed in a hotel in the UK before this trip, always in B&Bs. This was a lovely stay. The reception was a large open sitting area adjacent to a dining room for breakfast. A small bar was open beside the reception desk. Each staff member was kind, courteous, and patient with Americans who were unfamiliar with cultural differences. Housekeeping was very thorough and came to our room every day to make our bed, even when we did not call them..We did not request towels but we were offered...
