"When we arrived mid-afternoon at Sugar Cane Club, the lobby was full of suitcases and fully dressed folks sleeping on the sofas. I guess these were post-checkout guests waiting for the night flights home, but it wasn't a very appealing sight. The front desk seemed disorganized, but after a short delay we were checked in and shown to our room. Room (401) was a large suite with a comfortable bed but otherwise dated and not very comfortable couch and chairs. A refresh is definitely in order. ...

"Right on the beach, lots of chairs for everyone, pool was sparking clean . Management went out of their way to help me celebrate a birthday!! The only complaint was the noise from other resorts and clubs. We would have really enjoyed more fresh fish variety All in all it was great!! Also, must mention the wonderful bar server who danced and did cartwheels and wore eye popping knee socks. He entertained us daily! Hats off to him!!"

"The view was beautiful, a peaceful place; the staff was friendly and courteous. It's not hot on this side; it's very breezy. The internet was not good for using the TV, and the stove sometimes wouldn't turn on. The reception guy came a few times to help us. Those two things could be improved."

"This property is beautiful and serene and wild. It feels like an oasis compared to the busier side of Barbados. We relaxed immediately and were able to walk along the coast paths and into Bathsheba. "We recently celebrated our 25th anniversary at the Soco Hotel and it was amazing. We had such a great time, it was peaceful and relaxing just what we needed. The guest were mostly older/retired but everyonewas very nice, we are in our mid 40s. If you are looking for a party scene this is not the place. The hotel was in a central location, the room was large with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The beach was rocky, definitely bring water shoes. Chairs and umbrella were provided which was great. There is also a boardwalk that connects the hotel to a lot of local restaurants on the stretch along the ocean. The public beach was only 5 min drive away and free to get in and free parking. If you wanted loungers and an umbrella it was $20 for the day. The receptionist Shaniqua and Ms. Linda at the front desk were friendly and knowledgeable. Special thanks to Ms. Judith our housekeeper that surprised us by decorating our room and was just so kind in making sure we were taken care of. A special thanks to our bartenders Shane and Michelle who were both wonderful and made the best Bajan rum punch ever ank kept the liquor flowing. Thanks to all the hotess/waitresses that served us as well and made us feel special. Cons: Rocky Beach Plus: All meals were made to order and wonderful staff. "
