Chester Golf Club has been welcoming golfers of all abilities to its expertly maintained course since 1901. Take the challenge of playing the holes of varying difficulties while also admiring excellent views of the Welsh Hills. Watch and take part in competitions and attend lively social events at the clubhouse.
The club is an 18-hole and split-level course with a par of 71. It covers a total of 6,461 yards (5,907 meters), with several fairways running parallel to the River Dee. Some 2,000 trees, among which are over 100 species, line the lush fairways. Bunkers, contour greens, curves and water features add interest to each of the holes.
Visitors are welcome to play at the club. Fees are cheaper on weekdays and during the winter months. Dress codes should be adhered to while playing and spending time in the clubhouse. Equipment, such as clubs, buggies, electric and pull trolleys are available to rent.
Throughout the summer months there’s a busy schedule of competitions for men, women and juniors. Entrants should possess a competition handicap and a registered Central Database of Handicap identification number. Visit the clubhouse for pre and post-round refreshments and food cooked by a Michelin-trained chef. Quizzes, themed food events and wine tastings take place year round.
Located in the Curzon Park neighborhood, the club is about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) to the west of Chester City Centre. Free parking is available. If you arrive at Chester train station then you can take a bus to Curzon Park and walk from there. Chester Racecourse, a venue for horse racing, polo and open-air concerts, and Chester Castle are some nearby city attractions.
You’ll find full details of the club’s opening hours, fees, dress codes and events listed on its official website.
