"If you’re a woman travelling on her own, I can’t guarantee this place enough. Safe area that’s quiet, near lots of places to eat/bars, walkable distance to a lot of attractions/things to do and not far from the central station. Staff were extremely friendly, made some amazing food recommendations and offered up a room with a bath when I mentioned I really needed one after travelling. "My stay at the Diplomat was lovely. It is an elegant hotel in a beautiful, historic building. The charm of the water across the street and being able to easily walk to the tram or subway near was super convenient. My room was well appointed with nice linens and a comfortable bed. Great water pressure in the shower too! I ate at the downstairs restaurant twice, both times exactly what I needed with good food and attentive service. "Definitely a sweet well appointed boutique hotel that offered a sumptuous breakfast included and helpful staff. Small room with un inviting chairs, facing the Grand Hotel across the alley and some thumping noise from the bar’s music below made hanging in the room or getting early sleep more of a challenge. I would stay there again but search out better room (not sure if this was an Expedia limitation). FYI Gym was next door at the Grand Hotel, not in house but easy access. "
