"A reasonably priced hotel that serves the basics for the night. Staff were friendly and helpful and check in went smoothly. Spacious room and felt clean despite the old feeling of the building. Located in the red light district, so possibly somewhere to stay clear of if staying with minors. "

"We enjoyed our stay here and was pleasantly surprised with how accommodating our host was. We were nervous after reading some reviews complaining about how the host was unhelpful or the property was lacking but our accommodation had everything we needed and was nice and warm. The host explained the bus schedule to us when we arrived and it was very easy to access Happo One within 10-15 minutes on the shuttle. "Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "

"The owners were lovely. Made an effort to chat and help out during the stay. The room size was also great for Japan, featuring two single beds and a couch (I was travelling solo). Unfortunately, the thing that will stop me from ever going back was the smell. There was a broken urinal in the men's bathroom and it made the entire place smell horrendously. I went to the supermarket to buy a big can of deodorant to use every time I walked through the place. Sadly no amount would fix the bathroom...

"The hosts are great and goos people. The breakfast is good. It is very close to the slopes for skiing. The walls are very thin and neighbors can be very loud. The rooms are very small and the space could be utilized a lot better, it can get very cramped especially with luggage. There is a good child friendly common space, and a place to store ski equipment. "

"The owners are so friendly and helpful it was nice and quiet and a very short walk to the gondola for snowboarding it is a stunning place and feels like you are at home It’s very warm in winter with fires going and I was travelling with boys and they loved it Great location and amazing meals the owners went out of their way to help us as it was our first time in Japan. Highly recommended this accommodation to everyone when we come back we will stay here again ❤️"

"Friendly, warm and homely. In the middle of the action with all the ski shuttles and ski hire etc almost at the front door. Also a lovely hot spar bath after a day on the slopes. Owner friendly and helpful. "

"Very welcoming place. Staff do everything they can to help you. About 10 minutes walk from sakka lifts at Happo and hotel runs shuttle services to and from the slopes each day either direct to Happo, goryu or bus terminal and then bus take you onwards to the many other Hakuba slopes. Breakfast buffet is quite good. Onsen on site is great. One of the best places I've stayed. "

"HA-MON was excellent, fantastic friendly staff and owner. Only minor issue we had was that we did not realise we had booked a room without a private bathroom. Most rooms do not have private bathrooms, however, this was our fault for not reviewing the room details properly before booking. Other than that we were very happy with our stay. Thank you! ☺️"

"Wonderful stay! I was a solo traveler staying in hakuba for the snowboarding and I met new friends during my stay at this hotel! Theres a nice community lounge where people get warm and share stories about their day! Its also a 13min walk from Skyline Gondola and has many bars, restaurants, and food truck along the way!"
