“Love this place! Lovely, welcoming real fires in winter. Cool outdoor area for brighter days. Spent a great couple of hours in the beer garden. Rooms clean and well kitted out. Breakfast brilliant!”

“Room was compact but comfortable, the bed especially comfortable. Best in room coffee ever! TV was impossible to sort out, HUGE but useless. A leak from toilet cabinet meant floor was wet most of the time, and was reported to manager, I'm sure it'll be fixed for next people. Pub is oozing with atmosphere, food is excellent. Staff are great. Somebody could pick up litter outside once in a while to improve the look.”

“What a great stay. Kevin and Maria were very attentive, warm, and hospitable. This was our first night in UK after a long flight and felt like home. The accommodations were very nice and the king room was so cozy. The bed slept great and had everything we needed. The breakfast was first class but also made us feel like we were staying with family! Thanks for the great stay.”

“The staff were conspicuois by their absencr and the room facilities were badic withbonly one tea cup and no glasses - no good for taking medication. Also the TV was unusable.”

“Wonderful overnight stay with our springer spaniel . Lovely clean and spacious dog friendly room in the Annex with a fabulous view . Set in wonderful grounds with lovely outdoor areas and enjoyed a great circular walk down to the river. All staff were so friendly and the steak for the evening meal was cooked perfectly as was the very generous breakfast . Definitely be back”

“The Hotel has a lot of character and is in a beautiful location in the Dales. We watched lambs playing in the field as we had breakfast. There are great walks on to the Dales or down to the river from the front door. The staff were very friendly, and we had a lovely restful stay.”

“The hotel and lake setting is beautiful. The spa is too expensive when you are limited to only two hours when it is extremely quiet.”

“The staff were attentive to our needs. We ate there on the second night of our stay. They food was lovely and hot when served. We did not wait for too long from ordering to getting our food. There were limitations on what we could have both on the food and drink side due to delivery issues. My and I were are aware that there was music being played when we went to bed, but I did not really interfere with us getting to sleep. Eat plugs were provided which my wife used. “What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot.”

“The hotel is a very short distance from the M6, which makes it an ideal stop over. The accommodation was really comfortable with lovely restaurant and bar facilities.
