A excellent 4 night stop here. The Major and his wife, and staff, were all very helpful and did everything possible to make your stay welcoming, comfortable and personal. There was plenty of space to sit and relax in the sun or in the shade, in a comfy armchair inside or on the terrace or in the gardens.
Rooms were spacious, comfy, clean, had good views of the surrounding countryside.
There was a minimal choice for breakfast but adequate and tasty. The one morning because there were only a four in the hotel and it was such a sunny lovely morning they moved breakfast from the breakfast room onto the front terrace.
An evening meal was available at Devra if you booked it of a morning. A good selection of home cooked Indian food. They made sure that you had a different selection of food for your evening meal on a subsequent evening with them.
It was well worth the 15 drive out to this residence as it was quiet and peaceful and the views fantastic. You woke to birds singing, and not horns honking(like in Delhi). One of the staff soon sorted a taxi when you needed one whether it be for a quick journey into Udaipur or all day.
There was plenty to do in Udaipur and the surrounding area, including going a walk along the lanes and fields.
Wifi wasn't available throughout the hotel and sometimes they turned it off but if you asked they soon put it on.
If you go to the top of Monson Palace you can clearly work out where devra is.
