“Excellent friendly hotel. Ample parking, clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant excellent. Owners are very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. There was a minor set back with checking in. Check in from 4 but door locked. It was a little frustrating as I’d been working all day but wasn’t waiting too long. Hopefully was a one off as I will be surely checking in again when I’m in the area. ”

“Stayed three times in the last 6 months, the hotel has a delightful, elegant ambience, lovely rural views with helpful, attentive staff. At lunch the food was superb and excellent value. I thoroughly recommend a stay in this fine hotel. ”

“Secure parking at rear of property. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. The extractor in the bathroom was either not working or not efficient enough to clear the steam from the room. Also if you want me to use the excellent towels for a second day, a heated towel rail needed , or any towel rail to hang the bath towel after first use. ”

“There was limited evening meal choice when we stayed but it was still delicious, as was breakfast. The bedroom was a little too warm for our liking so we kept the window open, (frames need the mould removing though). All staff members were very friendly and helpful. Stairs to bedrooms/dining room/bar are a little steep so may not suit those with mobility issues. ”

“I was disappointed to find that despite what it said on the Hotels site the Red Lion did not organise parking if you phoned. I had to park 5 minutes walk away and thankfully it was not raining too hard. With no food at the pub food choices were a little limited but luckily there is a very good take away pizza shop 50 metres away. The breakfast I had was very good so no problems with that.”
