I'll start this by saying that we stayed on a night when the hotel was full due to a concert in town. Having said that, we booked a superior room and requested a twin (as I was staying with my daughter) 6 months in advance. On arrival we were told there were no twin rooms. This is clearly down to staff not reading and acting on requests. Long story, but after about half an hour, we were given 'the emergency room' which had twin beds. This was a small, dark room. Not the superior with balcony which we had booked. The aircon didn't work (battery), a socket totally came away from the wall when we removed the plug, the toilet was partly under the worktop...We accepted is, as we knew everywhere in town was full. The hotel's own website was still selling a twin room as we were checking in. When I asked for compensation for not getting the room type booked, thhe receptionist said that other guests had paid a lot more than us (because we were organised and booked early). I asked for complimentary breakfast to be included but was told no. As we were leaving at 10.40 the following day, the receptionist called to me and said we could go in for complimentary breakfast. As breakfast finished at 11am, there was barely any food left. Had we been told this the day before, we would have gone earlier and enjoyed some food. We also booked this hotel for parking. We were told on arrival that the parking was full and needed to be pre-booked, which isn't stated anywhere.
