This was my first time staying at a motel and in a completely new city at that and I am glad I chose to stay at Townhouse. After having read some of the reviews on Google, I feel like the service and staff has greatly improved from the past. I booked a standard king room and was quite pleased. I kept my expectations low to begin with and hence wasn't disappointed. The motel was fully booked up and so I couldn't check in as early as I would've wanted but Andy at front desk checked me in an hour earlier than standard time. The room was definitely old as is the motel itself and it had some drawbacks like the frayed edges of the carpet, the blow dryer and iron box not working but those were very minor inconveniences to me. The room and the bathroom were very clean and stocked with the essentials. The fridge was in perfect working condition. The bed was very comfortable and cozy which was great because the room was slightly on the chilly side( I don't think heating is an option) . But once you are under the covers, you are warm and toasty. The location of the motel was great as it was walkable distance (at least for me) to fisherman's wharf, Ghirardelli square, golden gate etc - all the spots I hit.
There was one incident worth noting, where my key card wouldn't work on the first night. But Andy and the maintenance guy were on top of it and it was fixed the very next day. Over all a 4/5 imo and good value for your money. Special S/O to Andy and I wanna say Eric (maintenance guy).
