Before staying here, I reviewed the feedback and didn't expect top-notch amenities but hoped for a clean, basic room. Unfortunately, I would strongly advise against walking barefoot on the carpet. It contained remnants of food, beer caps, and even contact lenses (yes, how does one lose three?). When the room key didn’t work, the property owner insisted the customer repeatedly go up and down the stairs to prove the issue, rather than to offer assistance or investigate the issue proactively.
The breakfast experience was equally unappealing. The tables were dirty, and the food offered was subpar. Packaged pastries were stale, the milk for cereal was in a shared jug stored in a microfridge with a freezer covered in a block of ice. I observed the owner adding new waffle mix to the old batch without cleaning the container and storing the whisk in the bottom of a dirty cabinet afterward.
The room itself had significant issues. A noticeable hump ran through the middle of the floor, likely due to structural concerns. Cracks in the walls, evidence of prior leaks patched on the ceiling, and attempts to fill separating corners with epoxy were apparent. The floor boards were also had gaps from where the floor and wall not longer aligned. Structural issues seem to be a broader concern, making a remodel unlikely.
While there were spiders in the room, we didn’t encounter roaches or bed bugs, which was a positive, but just would roll the dice somewhere else before coming back.
