I will start with saying we loved this resort and would stay there again. Food options great. Pools great. Beach was great. Bar tenders were rude unless you are female but all other staff were great. Our only real issue was with housekeeping. They never filled our mini bar and snacks the entire week we were there and they never left enough towels or wash cloths for those in the room. Stay away from Nexus Tours - they take your money and then don’t deliver. Also watch the golf carts coming around the corners. But once again we WOULD stay there again.

Honestly I would have liked more adult amenities I thought it was adult only but there was kids everywhere all over the oool party was in the smallest pool the resort had It was totally impossible to make dinner reservations at the restaurants the food at the buffet was cold and horrible there was NO AUTHENTIC DOMINICAN FOOD the Dominican breakfast had melt d white cheese n the mango had no flavor after the 3rd night is when my party of 12 realized the nachos burgers n fry chicken was the only thing we wanted over all its more of a retirement home vibe with grandparents that want to take there grandkids out

This was the most disappointing and frustrating experience we have ever had on a trip. The service at this hotel is abysmal, starting with the front desk staff, who right from the start tried to charge us an extra $134 per night for an upgrade to which I was entitled as an Expedia Platinum member. This is an upgrade I have consistently received at every other hotel that offers this perk; however, because this place tries to squeeze a profit out of everything, they chose not to honor it. Instead, they fabricated all sorts of excuses to justify their actions to Expedia even though, right to my face, they had explicitly asked me for extra money. The receptionist displayed a terrible, rude attitude, and they actually preferred to leave rooms empty rather than provide us with the service. I booked this hotel as an "adults-only" property, yet there are children everywhere; it is *not* an adults-exclusive resort. Everyone is mixed together, and you have to constantly search for the designated adults-only zones and even then, children still manage to get in! You see them in every hallway, and starting at 6:00 AM, they are already screaming right outside the guest rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it is a complete waste of potential given the terrible service and lack of professionalism among the staff. I gave it one star because zero wasn't an option. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel; I would not return, nor would I ever recommend it to everyone.

For starters the food was amazing! The staff were half decent, rude, and RACIST. When they think you can’t speak Spanish they say rude things about you in Spanish. Upon leaving the resort the staff made my group go through the detectors multiple times and accused us of stealing towels from them. Once they realized we didn’t steal they gave no apology and proceeded to keep us at the hotel in the driveway until they found all the check out tickets that THEY misplaced due to their accusations. Don’t think I’ll be returning due to the rude staff. My swim up room was splendid and again so was the food. I wish the staff had more etiquette.

RACIST! The staff are rude and disrespectful. My group of 12 were discriminated against and picked on the entire trip. If you don’t speak Spanish, they take advantage of you and act oblivious. We feared for our safety and would not recommend this resort to any person of color! The only positive interaction we had was with majority of the female staff and one waiter named Anthony from the Valley restaurant. We were accused of stealing a wash cloth during check out, when they checked our bags and found nothing, they were embarrassed and tried to hold us so we would miss our flight. NEVER AGAIN.

On one occasion, we ordered room service, but it never arrived. After almost two hours, we called room service and were told that someone had knocked on our door; however, we never heard anyone. This was particularly strange because we were in the room the entire time, and we did hear the housekeeping staff knock that day while we wait for the breakfast. The property is beautiful as explained on the website, but the customer service in the dining areas (all meals) was horrible for the most part. Multiple attempts to get drinks and food and was ignored or not helped. I tried to give benefit of the doubt but realized it wasn't on accident. It was intentional. It really seemed like the wait staff hated their jobs and took it out on the tourists.

The property was beautiful. The staff wasn’t as friendly as other resorts but they weren’t rude. Housekeeping didn’t leave but one towel set once cleaning the room and dining only allowed one napkin per guest which was strange to me. This was one of the biggest resorts I have been to thus far and the pool was just beautiful. It was hard to find beach chairs as people claim them early but you never saw anyone at them. The beach was great but had a lot of seaweed. I would highly recommend this resort to couples.

Leider war das Personal überwiegend unfreundlich - egal ob Bar, Pool, Restaurant. Man hatte eher das Gefühl die Bediensteten zu stören und hat sich überhaupt nicht willkommen gefühlt. Die Poolanimation war auch ganz schlecht und viel viel zu laut. Die Animatoren schrien in die Mikros, obwohl diese schon gefühlt mit 10.000 Watt verstärkt waren. Es hat in den Ohren geschmerzt. Auf der Apple-Watch hatte ich andauert Warnungen von über 96 dB. Zudem waren am großen Hauptpool trotz sehr vieler Liegen diese alle schon spätestens ab 9:00 Uhr mit Handtüchern belegt, aber zur keiner Tageszeit sind auch nur annähernd 50% darauf Leute gelegen. Manchmal waren Liegen auch nur mit den Duschtüchern belegt (die Strandtücher hatten eine andere Farbe). Ich erwarte vom Management eines 5-Sterne Hauses, das all diese Mängel erkannt und beseitigt werden - leider ist in den 2 Wochen nichts passiert. Der Strandbereich erzeugt leider auch kein Karibikfeeling. Das Meer ist voller Algen und man blickt nur in dutzende von Ausflugsbooten. Wir hatten Adults-only gebucht, aber das ist es nicht wirklich. Man hat im Buffetrestaurants einen eigenen Sitzbereich und nur einer der kleineren Pools ist für Erwachsene, das ist alles. Ansonsten ist das ein Family-Resort. Fazit: Ich kann das Adults Only Club at Lopesan Costa Bávaro überhaupt nicht empfehlen - kein Karibikfeeling, keine Erholung, kein Adults-only und schlecht gemanaged. Sucht euch ein anderes Hotel.

I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort from April 11–16, and overall, the experience was mixed. The resort itself is very large and beautifully decorated, but it could really benefit from clearer maps and better signage—getting around wasn’t always easy. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Many staff members, especially at check-in and the front desk, were not very friendly or helpful, and it felt like additional training is needed in those areas. There were also some issues with the room. I encountered two roaches—one in the room and one in the closet. While I understand that insects can be common in the Caribbean, I didn’t expect to find them inside the room. When I reported it, the response was disappointing, as I was simply told housekeeping could come again, with no real resolution offered. That said, a few standout employees completely turned things around for me. Domingo and Claribel at the adults-only pool bar were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Felix at the late-night restaurant, The Valley, was also fantastic. Without these three individuals, my experience would have been significantly worse. In short, while the resort looks great, service and guest support need improvement and the rules around the adults only pool need to be revisted. Out of the days I was there there was only entertainment at the pool one day. The staff members mentioned above were the highlight of the stay and made a big difference.

Went with my partner, we travel often. One of the best resorts I’ve been too. So much to do. We had a swim up suite. It was beautiful & worth it. Will be back soon.

Resort was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was not good. The 3 restaurants we went to was hibachi, Mexican and steakhouse. Other than three Mexican was the best, but it took over an hour to get our food because the server forgot to put our order in and he was rude on top of that. Reservations are very limited. There is no Stille bar figured they would have servers walking around offering drinks that only happened once the four days we were there we wanted to drink. We have to get up and walk to the bar then in line, the staff wasn’t friendly. The buffet I’d write a one out of five in the room Service is zero. Bad food selections/options and it was always cold. I ordered nachos because you can’t go wrong with nachos but they don’t even put cheese on them. We met other families while we were there. They complained about the same stuff we weren’t happy with. I would not stay here again, even if they offered me a free trip back.
