I have stayed at this hotel on two other occasions and always liked its central location.
Never had any reason for complaint in the past.
However on this occasion I have to say, I feel robbed in that I paid for breakfast in advance for the 3 night stay, and it’s poor. On the first morning I arrived for breakfast very late (not helped by the 12 hour hour journey I had the previous evening) and having gone for the Full English, I was disappointed by the fact it was all cold and either overdone or dried out, but I put it down to my late arrival.
On the second morning, I had a bowl (very small) of Corn Flakes, a Banana, a Pain au Raisin pastry and a cup of tea - definitely not worth the price charged.
This morning (my last breakfast) I wanted to try the Full English again and made sure I got there with over an hour left, however it all looked the same to me. The Hash Browns were very overdone and dried out, the bacon and sausages sit in the same hot tray swimming in about an inch of hot water, the fried egg looks plastic, the scrambled egg looked? - so by now I decided to pass and just have the same continental breakfast I had on the second morning. I made my feelings known to a chap who was heading up the guests in and out of the area and he said he would pass on my remarks to the chef. Later, I informed the reception girl at checkout that I was unhappy about the change in the quality of breakfast since my previous stays, and that I’ll stay again but not have breakfast.
