"I paid in advance for the upgrade. When checking in I was told at the desk it was already in my reservation. There is no upgrade when checking in they offer. I also paid for the club level which is on a higher floor with a sit down buffet breakfast and evening appetizers and wine. We used it a few times. Not worth it to me to do again in the future but plenty of food if you want to have your meals there."

"This is a grand hotel from a past era. We didn't want the fancy American Hotel - we wanted an older beautiful hotel and this didn't disappoint. The only downside is the neighbourhood is mixed - on the same street although the Eurostar is right across the street. However just a block away are all of the large hotels and the business street and once we realised this - then it was fine. We LOVED this hotel and will return. I love the foyer and after a long day we often sat and had drinks. The staff is wonderful. "

"Great location, clean, lots of car honking which wasn’t as bad as expected during the night. Staff was helpful for the most part but became noticeably put off when asked for extra coffee pods which unlike a hotel they do not replenish. Also no daily service. "
