On our last night in Nepal, we decided to stay in the Gaurishankar Suite since it was only ~$50 more than staying in the most basic rooms (note those did look very small) at the hotel. The suite is roomy, has a nice view, and a balcony (only complaint would be the wasp nest on the roof directly above the balcony which I'm sure they will deal with).
I had read some reviews stating that the food was a sub-par buffet-only here. Fortunately, those reviews were completely wrong. There is a big a-la-carte menu with Western, Chinese, and Indian options all available. Everything that we ordered was very good and we would have little interest in going elsewhere even if our stay was longer. The restaurant patio is also very nice with a great view.
Overall the property is very nice and there are lots of little quiet spots with seating and swings.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Nagarkot. Just be advised that in order to access Nagarkot, you will need 339 Nepalese Rupees in cash per foreign visitor in order to pass a check point most of the way up the road. We fortunately had this, but if not, it would have been a long ride back down to Bhaktapur to find an ATM!
