Spent our first nights in Missoula at this property. The staff could not be more friendly or more accommodating. The trademark cookies offered at check-in were welcome after a long day of travel. The on-site restaurant is a little pricey but the quality of the food is solid. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom was notable for its walk-in shower.
What makes this property a gem is the location along the Clark Fork River. If you can swing it (or if you can somehow get a complimentary upgrade), stay in a river view room. Spend time out on the deck and listen to the burbling water. Bonus: those rooms also look out on the University of Montana campus, and the mountainside M is within sight.
Minor quibbles: the property is spread out along the riverbank so it might be a walk to the front desk, restaurant, or parking lot. Also, the guests seemed noisy in the mornings, and it seems like the design of the hallway can amplify sound.
Overall, a good place to stay. Recommended.
