Young receptionist on first day of arrival, the only 5 star rating for Willen - customer service second to none, and should transfer to a 5 Star hotel more fitting with her demeanour.
Room on arrival was actually quite pleasant, bright and airy with the expected lake view. Unfortunately the balcony was FILTHY, with bird excrements and one of the reading lights did not work.
Without warning or explanation, returned late at the end of the following day to find I had been 'downgraded' without warning or explanation to accommodate another guest! Alternate room given was smaller, dark and could barely see the lake. Room so dark it required lighting during the day and to cap it, light bulbs did not work, TV remote did not work. Replacement batteries resolved the issue but this lack of attention to detail just peppered the experience.
Thus a much anticipated lake view relaxation getaway became heavily marred by the interruptions in room changes - 3 in 4 days!
One can only speculate gender and ethnicity factored in the move. A sole traveler, female and black, perhaps they thought I would be accepting and uncomplaining. However, having made my views known, I was again moved to a room with clear view of the lake. Note the original room was not an option because that guest could not be inconvenienced - yet it was ok to have inconvenienced me. Perhaps I suffered delusion of grandeur at the time - was I a guest or the chambermaid!
