“This was our 3rd visit to The Inn at South Stainley. We had 4 days and 3 nights and again we enjoyed ourselves. We had our dinner for 3 nights at The Inn which were filling and excellent. Likewise can be said for the breakfast we also had. The room we stayed in was in premises alongside The Inn which was of a high standard and serviced daily. Hopefully we will be back. Thanks”

“All night reception was brilliant as I booked to stay after a wedding and hadn’t checked in before hand. Bed clean and comfortable, bathroom had everything needed and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The only thing that let it down was at breakfast we missed out on being offered toast and I didn’t get chance to ask for decaf tea when I was brought normal tea. Otherwise, absolutely lovely and it accommodated lots of the wedding party.”

“I LOVED Carol. She was welcoming and kind, made an amazing breakfast for me, answered all my questions. A great hostess. My room (12) was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Nice big TV. The water pressure was really low but I think that’s typical in older buildings. The garden was peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine. Great stay. Traveled from Canada.”

“I did not get use of the room as the hotel was locked up despite calling and leaving messages there was no reply . I had the inconvenience of having to travel 12 miles to find another hotel .”

“Disappointing one night stop over. Its more of a business traveller, conference & private events venue than a country house hotel. Suite 15 is directly opposite the kitchen extractor fan which is on from before 5.00am until the kitchen closes at night & can easily be heard in the room. The room only had one bedside table & lamp, the glazed entrance is fitted with opaque glass & is the only window so there is no view. If you could see out you would be looking at the car park. “Had to wait nearly 30 minutes before they could get any key card to work Was only on the fourth room I managed to get in Not what you want at 1am when you've driven all day and need sleep before your next drive No compensation, no apology, just a shrug of the shoulders from staff, that clearly had seen this happen before Didn't even get a free cup of coffee next morning”
