“Our room was clean and comfortable. It was a good size and set up for a family as we needed. We were disappointed that the spa was closed, an odd decision to close the spa at the weekend when travellers are most likely to want to use it. Breakfast was a little underwhelming but plenty to choose from. The cereal packets were quite a long way out of date. The traffic was quite loud from our room at the front of the hotel. A room at the back would be much better to be able to sleep through. Just...

“A one night birthday trip. Staff are welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Room comfortable if a little small. Room was very warm but solved by turning off the heat and opening the window. My only recommendation would be for the waiting staff to bring out the required knives for meals. Had soup and a roll with whipped butter but no knife to spread butter, also had steak again no steak knife. Both had to be requested. “Fabulous place to stay. The bar/restaurant is cosy and inviting. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Teas coffee and cake was a lovely touch in the room. Beds comfortable, breakfast delicious. Taxi to nearby picturedrome £6 each way. Can definitely recommend.”
