“I stayed 2 nights in a Mirembe cottage- my friend had the cottage next door and we had a dedicated outside eating area, from where we were served our food.We were served by James who was consistently courteous and efficient .We felt like film stars on a tropical island as we ate delicious food sitting by the lake watching a wide variety of birds - it was just such a treat!”

“The room we were given was not what we booked. When asked for the room we booked we were shown an incredibly run down version of it in a building that was undergoing repairs so we opted for the room they initially assigned. “This was a very nice property with Lake Victoria access. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The shuttle driver was there to pick me up at the airport even at a very late hour. My room was ready and waiting. I would stay here again.”

“Gately is a quaint hotel that is always enjoyable. The staff are courteous, professional and attentive but not annoying. The facility itself is a bit nostalgic and unique, and along with that comes aging plumbing and electrical supply problems. “The staff were really nice and helpful for sure. The place has SO much potential but needs an injection of capital.. so many repairs/upgrades/maintenance needed. Plusses.. its the first resort from the ferry. You can walk there or a 2 minute drive. We were met and escorted (nice) but they need a much better sign out front (or you'd miss it).
