“Pictures and discription were not what we actually rented. Very small, no room for the luggage, shower very small and could hardly bend offer to clean. The kitchen would have worked had there been supplies for cooking. No toaster, no sheet pan, no strainer. The bed crambbed into a space were there is 18" to walk on bot sides. There is heat but no way to cool, no fan. There is a nice laundry on the property and the property is quite.”

“We highly recommend this location to anyone looking for that cabin experience with all the amenities. The cabin was so comfortable and spacious. The grounds are really fun to explore all the way out to the beach. The scenery was amazing. I would only recommend having some throw blankets in case guests are chilly sitting on the couch or when extra warmth is needed at night.”

“We like everything about this property! We travel extensively and I really believe this host offered the “little” details possible. A small candy dish, a booklet full of local information, soft towels, make up towels, nice shower heads, coffee products, etc…. We enjoyed the balcony, recliners and soft bed. Nearby float planes coming and going did make noise that could bother some, but we know those sounds are the price of adventure for others, overall this is a great place to stay!”

“The location of the Bear Necessities cottages is rural and quiet, yet close to town. Our cottage, though small, was clean and comfortable with a good shower. There is no air-conditioning, which is typical in Alaska. Heat was provided by a diesel heater. This was a little unusual, but we got used to it and it worked fine. No complaints. Would easily stay here again.”
