“Beautiful location, quaint little spot. I would give it 4 1/2 stars but I didn’t get a wink sleep because the mattresses were less comfortable than sleeping on the ground in a tent. It wasn’t even what I would call a mattress. The double bed was actually two twin box springs pushed together. Unbelievable that such a beautiful and quaint hotel wouldn’t spend a little bit of money making sure their guests got a comfortable night sleep”

“Room was comfortable even though I had the compact room. Totally adequate. .Toilet rim was a little dirty but likely a small miss by cleaning staff. Small shower stall but great shower! Very convenient location. Had parking which is a great feature given its very central location. Great bar too. Would stay again.”

“Our stay was great. The food was good; huge made-to-order breakfast omelette. Only problem was the bathtub needed a bit of scrubbing....there was scum around the sides in the bathtub. Other than that it was great.”

“Whisky vaults has a great bar with live music, if we hadn’t been staying we would have missed a really good night. Room was clean with a comfy bed although the bathroom was very compact with very little room to manoeuvre. We had booked room only but were given a breakfast bag at check-in which was an unexpected surprise.”

“Wonderful small inn with B & B feel with history . The staff is amazing and actually overlap each other assisting you. A bit out of the way but beautifully set behind a gorgeous loch (lake) so plan on a car or about $120 in cab fare (6 trips) . Breakfast and dinner were delicious but unless you book with breakfast it’s extra. Well worth the extra travel.”

“The view out the front window of the hotel is beautiful. The food was ok.. not amazing. I ordered the risotto and it was terrible. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean.”

“We stayed one night in Oban in our way from Inverness to Glasgow. A bit of a detour, but worth it. We booked last minute. The hotel has a superb view of the bay. Unfortunately we timed it with a large group of tourists staying there, and this seemed to have overwhelmed the staff a bit. We couldn't park in the hotel, and parked in the street overnight. That was ok. The staff accommodated that we could have breakfast earlier than the booked time. It was ok for one night stop, but maybe not more....
