"Lovely hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. Shuttle picked us up at the train staion which was easy and very helpful. Staff did their best to communicate with using English which was appreciated! The room was lovely, large, clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant was excellent! Best wine ever!"

The apartment itself is huge and quite beautiful and has everything you need with a great espresso machine. "When I see near perfect online reviews, I’m sometimes suspicious if they’re ‘real’ reviews. But after staying here I’m wondering why everyone didn’t give perfect reviews. “Wow!” This property is beautiful! The location, property, rooms, and service were all outstanding. Our stay was in mid-March and while there was still a wintery feel outside, the trees were starting to bud and we had amazing weather. It’s very peaceful at this location with beautiful views all around. The room was beautiful and had a rustic feel but was clean, well designed, well decorated, great use of space, and had modern amenities. The communities in the area are enjoyable and there are natural as well as historical attractions in the area. The previous two places we had stayed on our road trip vacation had horrible beds. We were so relieved to arrive and find a very comfortable and spacious bed that allowed us to get great sleep. My only complaint about the room is that the headboard and footboard of the bed were not actually attached to the frame holding the mattress. Because of this, if I accidentally touched either the headboard or footboard, it easily moved and squeaked a lot. Since I’m taller I had to try to place myself perfectly in the middle to avoid bumping with my head or feet while sleeping. They offer breakfast and dinner services. We only took them up on one day of breakfast since we were out exploring the area all the other times. We hope to be able to go back soon to stay here."

"This hotel is a memorable trip back in time. Sextantio purchased and renovated 30 rooms in the village, each one with a different character, charm, and challenge. The rooms were restored with basic amenities, but it is easy to imagine the simple life people lived centuries ago. The atmosphere is reinforced with candlelight and fireplaces. Upon entering the historic dining room or the Cantinone, you may be motivated to take pictures prior to eating your sumptuous breakfast or relaxing with an afternoon drink. Although the evening meal was acceptable, be sure to check out other restaurants in the village that offer local menu options. Our family group was made up of senior citizens (70-80), so we experienced a few challenges during our stay. The cobblestone lanes can be slick, even when dry, so be sure to where sturdy shoes with hiking soles, and walk carefully. Parking is distant from the hotel complex, so ask for assistance when moving your luggage. The bathroom areas in some rooms are very small and minimally lit. Given this historic inconvenience, we weren’t motivated to shower. The village is still recovering from the earthquake of 2009, so cranes and construction crews provide a sobering reminder of the courage and commitment it takes to preserve ancient communities. The dramatic beauty of area mountains is attractive for hikers, but you’ll be sharing dirt roads with bikers as you seek solitude. This was a memorable stay overall, thanks to Sextantio. "
