"The room was huge! Separate bedroom, separate bathroom, separate shower, large open concept kitchen, living room. Large balcony with great ocean view. Crickets at night. We stayed one night; before our cruise. Would stay there again. Only downside was we had to check out at 12 noon (which is still reasonable) but our embarkation is only at 5. We could have extended our stay but at 15 euros per hour. In CDN$ that’s quite steep."

"Beautiful view from the top of a big, steep hill. Lovely room and pool. Regrettably, we didn’t have a rental car so we were at the mercy of expensive and hard To find taxis, and the Bus system was difficult to understand, no fault of the property of course. Staff there were so kind trying to help me understand how and when And where to get a bus … and to Get a taxi when needed. "

"This is a great place stay while in Saint Martin. Anse Marcel is very quiet with a nice, quiet, beautiful beach. A few good places to eat nearby as well. We stayed half our trip here and then another place another place nearby. The place nearby was awesome but hard to rate 5/5 after staying at The Forest. The suites here are spacious, clean and quiet with everything you need. Staff are all great as well. Would definitely stay here again on another trip. We loved Saint Martin so I think coming...

"Amazing stay. Our first time in Guadeloupe. We stayed a week. The owner, Geoff, was super friendly and helpful, he spoke both French and English. The apartment had everything you needed for a week stay and Geoff got anything we asked for. There is not maid service, which was fine with us, we cooked meals. "Grand Case Beach Club, a gem on the French side. Beach front property, amazing “Sunset” restaurant, beautiful turquoise waters and a 7-10 min walk to the main strip of excellent dining options. Second time at this resort and SXM deff has a warm place in my families heart:)"

"The Esmeralda Resort/Spa is an ideal place for those that like a quiet, detached, peaceful, and less crowded type setting. Its situated behind a beach bar at the north end of the bay. Cabins of 4 units share their own pool, thus making it quite cozy and private to lounge in your "own pool". The restaurant is fantastic for the quality of the food and its staff. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and as a single traveler, they engaged in conversation but not too much so seem invasive. Do not mistake the restaurant for being low cost--it was not. It can be on the pricy end to dine there, yet well worth it. The included continental brunch, was sort of blah, as there is nothing but carbs, and more carbs to eat. A small bowl of fruit is provided, along with 2 types of cereal, teas and coffee. If eggs or meats or anything else beyond bread (too much bread) is desired, then there is a menue available for those items at a cost. I highly recommend Esmeralda and would gladly stay again."
