“Nice old pub building in the centre of the small town. Down stairs arras were very nice with a cosy and traditional atmosphere. On checking in was advised kitchen was closed for 2 of the 3 nights. Breakfast (American pancakes) was very poor. Room was ok but tired around the edges. Very few power points and signs of a long term leak from shower which is always off putting. “Lovely gardens. Friendly helpful staff but no-one was able to say where alternative parking could be although we we very lucky to have got a parking spot within the hotel. We would like to have refrozen our ice packs so that we could buy food for a picnic lunch and keep it all cool but only discovered that we could do this by chance and when it was too late. Clean and tidy room but one clean towel had an old brown stain on it. Bathroom needs updating in the Club bedroom and get rid of the shower...

“A delightful little hotel. Staff were all pleasant and helpful, our room was spacious light and airy overlooking the beach . Quality of bedding and towels are lovely. Food very nicely cooked, good choice of menu, no greasy breakfasts, all well presented. Good variation of dinner menu. South sands beach is lovely, perfect for families. “Excellent service, by a great team everyone is really welcoming. The hotel is a period property, and is due a bit of a refresh. The location of the hotel is excellent for river trips, exploring Fore st and buses to the local area. Very pet friendly!”
